Inspired by a lotus pond, this airy cotton sheer curtain is handwoven in Banaras by weavers using the unique missing weave technique by clipping the extra floating threads which are not engaged in the design formation and lying loose in the back of the fabric.

It is a version of the highly labour-intensive ‘Karhuwa’ technique of weaving. This gives the curtain a semi-sheer finish as light comes through the cutwork.
